Initial Rig Idea

Use of mirrors  An initial idea was to have the two cameras facing each other with two mirrors places at 45o opposite each.  This would then, in theory allow the the images to be taken much closer together than would be allowed with the size of the lenses.
This however is not possible as the variables are too great plus the images themselves would be difficult to control.

Having the cameras side-by-side will enable the lenses to be strapped together.  The shutter release could be used with either rigs.

Areas to research for next meeting:

• Need to look for a 60p video camera for future filming project
• Look into constructing a programme that will alter the can alter the frame rate of the footage to 60fps
• Research more into editing software
• Take some initial images
• Test demo rig

Project Idea

What I'd like to achieve over the cause of this module is to create an extensive portfolio of stereoscopic photography.

I aim to develop the technical skills to take, edit and display stereoscopic photography.

To achieve this I shall need to:

• Rig the cameras appropriately
• Synchronise the two cameras
• Research into divergence
• Decide on the content
• Consider editing software
• Displaying techniques
